h8r ("we", "us", "our") operates the h8r mobile application. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: Phone number (for verification), display name, date of birth, gender, and preferences.

Profile Content: Photos you upload, hate tags you select, and prompt responses you write.

Location Data: Your approximate location (city-level) to show you nearby users. We store coordinates but do not track your real-time movement.

Usage Data: Swipe actions, match data, messages, and app interaction patterns. This data is used to improve matching and the user experience.

Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version for crash reporting and performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and maintain your account
• To match you with other users based on shared dislikes
• To show you nearby users in discovery
• To facilitate chat between matched users
• To moderate content and enforce community guidelines
• To improve our matching algorithm and user experience
• To display relevant advertisements (free tier)

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Service providers: Supabase (database/auth), Twilio (SMS verification), Google AdMob (advertising), and cloud hosting providers
• Aggregated/anonymized data: We may share anonymized, non-identifiable usage statistics (e.g., popular hate tags by region, aggregate swipe patterns) for research or business purposes. This data cannot be used to identify you.
• Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect safety

4. Advertising

Free users may see advertisements powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. Paid subscribers do not see ads. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security. Photos are stored in Supabase Storage. All data is transmitted via HTTPS/TLS encryption. We implement industry-standard security measures but cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

• Access: View your profile data at any time in the app
• Correction: Edit your profile, photos, tags, and prompts
• Deletion: Delete your account from the app settings. This permanently removes your profile, photos, matches, and messages within 30 days.
• Data portability: Contact us to request an export of your data

7. Age Requirement

h8r is for users aged 18 and older. We verify age during sign-up via date of birth. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover an underage user, we will delete their account immediately.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. Deleted accounts are purged within 90 days. Anonymized aggregate data may be retained indefinitely.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
